Product Overview
Getrag 7DCL750 Main Shaft Seal – Rear Weep Hole
The Getrag 7DCL750 Main Shaft Seal is a replacement sealing component designed for the internal hydraulic system of the Getrag 7DCL750 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, commonly found in select Ferrari, Ford GT, and Mercedes-AMG applications.
These seals are responsible for retaining DCT clutch hydraulic fluid within the main shaft bearing areas, preventing fluid leakage into the gearbox housing and helping maintain proper clutch hydraulic system operation.
The transmission is equipped with two main shaft seals, one for the odd-gear clutch circuit and one for the even-gear clutch circuit. Both seals are located deep inside the transmission housing near the speed sensor assembly.
A damaged, worn, or displaced main shaft seal may allow hydraulic fluid to escape and become visible through the rear transmission weep hole.

Transmission hydraulic pressure-related fault codes
Possible Related Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC):
P0841 – Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Range/Performance
This fault code may be associated with hydraulic pressure problems resulting from fluid loss. However, it does not necessarily indicate a failed main shaft seal. Proper diagnosis is recommended to determine the source of the issue.
Common Causes of Main Shaft Seal Failure
One potential cause of main shaft seal failure is bearing movement, commonly referred to as bearing creep.
Over time, bearing movement, vibration, and repeated thermal cycling may contribute to seal displacement or deterioration. If a bearing moves beyond its intended position, it may damage or displace the main shaft seal, resulting in internal hydraulic fluid leakage.
Proper inspection of the bearing, retaining ring, and surrounding components is recommended during transmission disassembly.
Important Installation Information
The Getrag 7DCL750 transmission is equipped with two main shaft seals, one for each main shaft assembly.
Sold individually. Price is per seal.
For complete replacement of both main shaft seals, please order a quantity of two.
Replacing both seals during transmission disassembly is recommended, particularly when performing a speed sensor replacement or transmission overhaul.
Installation requires access to internal transmission components. The condition and positioning of the main shaft bearings and retaining rings should be carefully inspected before installing new seals.
Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper seal alignment and prevent future hydraulic fluid leakage.
